Welcome to my Practice.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I’ve worked in multiple outpatient counseling settings, in community-based services, in university counseling, and I spent years working closely with adolescents, young adults, and families in wilderness therapy settings.
My training and experience as a family therapist means that I take into account the relationships and experiences that have shaped you, whether you are seeking therapy as an individual or as part of a couple or family. Along with my systemic perspective, I integrate attachment-based, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness approaches in my work with clients. I am a trained EMDR clinician and utilize this approach when appropriate. I am pursuing a certification in Perinatal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International and love supporting families around the transition to parenthood. With me, you can expect to examine patterns of thought and behavior in various areas of your life, work to understand how your unique personal history contributes to these patterns, explore and manage uncomfortable emotions, and be empowered to make deliberate choices that will help you feel in control. Above all I am person-centered and relational. I believe that growth happens where safety and challenge meet, and in working with you, my goal is to find that sweet spot. You will be treated with respect, humor, and compassion as we build connection and trust. My practice is LGBT affirmative.
I enjoy working with self-aware and self-invested adults and couples. I specialize in working with people reporting issues related to personal relationships, life transitions and events, parenthood, identity development, codependency, anxiety, trauma, and adoption. Couples often come to me seeking ways to manage conflict, communicate more effectively, and increase connection, and I frequently use Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work with them, and I am deeply influenced by Marshall Rosenberg’s work in NonViolent Communication.
